Subject: Great Railroad, Part 2
THe second portion of this movie shows the NYNH&H RRs Yankee Clipper at New Haven, when it switched from a steam locomotive (Hudson I-5 streamliner) to electric power (GE-built EP-4 class no. 366). Also shown is the workings of a NH power plant, possibly at Cos Cob.

Subject: All aboard!
Grand overview of the new England railroad system, from the initial attachments of cars, to the haul of passengers and cargo, this film details how important rail travel was once was. We see two trains, a passegner and a cargo train, and how they are prepared and maintained all throughout the system. Pretty good narration by mt CInerama himself, Lowell Thomas. One of the better train movies I've seen.
Excellent film of a Southern New England railroad in early 1940s. Superb shots of steam engines in motion, "ALL ABOARD!" yelled by the conductor (some of our best shots of this!), and behind the scenes ft'g. of railroad workers. Passenger trains, freight trains, roundhouse, etc. Recommended.
