Young Citizens for ECC announces it will address the ECC Board of Trustees today:
ECC Board of Trustees Meeting Wednesday, August 31st 12:00 noon ECC North Campus Executive Board Room â Rm. G-100 6205 Main Street Williamsville, New York
Young Citizens for ECC is fighting to bring Erie Community College's proposed Health Sciences Center for Excellence to downtown Buffalo, where it can tap into the job and internship opportunities of the fast growing Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
ECC has secured only $7.5 million of the $30 million needed to move forward on the North Campus proposal, and hopes for additional funding have dwindled since the Western New York state delegation turned down a $15 million request in part due to the Board's refusal to consider bringing the facility to the college's City Campus.
This dwindling political and financial support, says Young Citizens for ECC, is opening an opportunity for the project to shift gears and propose bringing it downtown where it will have brighter prospects of securing funding.
Greg Conley, co-chair of the group, will urge the Board of Trustees today to support an expansion project that can earn the support of the public.
