Subject:
Bob Steele With a Good Script
Well, here we have a believable westerns' script, even if it has a much used plot. Bob Steele (Billy the Kid) and his two companions Carleton Young (Jeff) and Al St. John (Fuzzy), who is not silly here, help out some settlers who have been cheated in their land purchases by regular villain Al Ferguson (Cobb Allen). Perennial henchmen Charlie King (Ed Baker), Rex Lease (Buck) and Ken Duncan (Bragg) bring their usual nastiness and menacing ways to their parts. Others who usually play bad guys are okay in their turns on the law-abiding side of life: Ted Adams (Sheriff), Karl Hackett (Attorney Martin), Edward Pell, Sr. (Dave Barlow) and Forrest Taylor (Tom Roberts). Louise Currie (Ann Roberts) is there as the obligatory eye candy and Blancha Vischer (Juanita) helps in that department. Here's a twist: IMDb says it is a 57 minute film, but we get 101.26.
