Marriage scam replaces prostitute scam
I didn't see the predictability that other reviewers cited. I didn't know where the plot was going in the beginning, but I was distracted and might have missed something. At any rate, the plot is a cleaned-up version of the "photos of the victim with the prostitute" blackmail scam. Because it was 1941, the premise was cleaned up a bit.
The flick moves along at a good pace, and the conclusion was more predictable than the beginning.

Miss Star
Boy ya just wanna slap her and scream, "Whaddaya STUPID?"
Then she walks in on the floozy just like the script screams it will.. I think it would be tougher to predict the sun rising tomorrow morning or it getting dark when it goes down at night.
If ever a movie was predictable this one is it.

This is actually pretty good.
I was surprised at this one. It was a somewhat stilted beginning and rather predictable, but still it was a pretty original story-line, if somewhat choppy, but I was entertained.
It's sort of a murder mystery, except that you already know who killed who, it's watching the tale unfold that's the bulk of this movie, and there's some assorted singing and dancing in the beginning.
