Subject: perfect timing
Cab Calloway's singing on this one shows what a great sense of timing he must of had, filling the song with a presence,a style, comic and cool at once and everything in between. And the band joins in with firing blasts, they move you places. It shouldn't take much and your right there in some club, watching these guys moving vividly in front of you,and the times as close as "any touching of music" can be to you

Good stuff. How can you not like a front man that sings, "C'mon sister. Light up one of these weeds and get high. And forget about everything."

Subject: Great song from back in the day!
My first exposure to cab calloway was in the movie "The Blues Brothers" singing 'minnie the moocher'. All I knew was that he was an older man with a great swinging scat voice. After reasearching him, i found "Are you hep to the jive?" a single disk, career spanning disk, and I was hooked. Finding an old 78 of him in the open source section is a great find! get this one!
