I grew up listening to the Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson, Return to Forever, and other âprogressiveâ groups. I decided to do a tribute to them with this cd. The title came about when watching a video of Mahavishnu live. They played with such unbelievable energy and creativityâit seemed to me, conviction. I got a similar feeling when watching the King Crimson DVD, Deja Vroom. There is much in life that is uncertain and cause for some anxiety, but one can believe in music, in oneself as an artist. Then of course when I started creating the artwork, I got other ideas. In my twenties, Iâd made a detailed pencil drawing of Isaac Newtonâs head melded together with Einsteinâs head. The idea being the transition from understanding the universe through a Newtonian mechanical view to the relativistic paradigm propounded by Einstein. Then I got the idea of putting Einsteinâs head unto Jimi Hendrixâs body, and Newtonâs head onto John McLaughlinâs body and putting them together on the cover.  So now the CD is still a tribute to MO and KC, but also a statement about the uncertainty principle, and how untenable it seems to hold onto any real belief system at all, because invariably reality proves us wrong all the time. This CD is chocked full of shredding Iâm afraid, and a lot of âfrippertronics.â Some of the music was me asking, âwhat if Mahavishnu and Robert Fripp got together? What kind of noises would they make?âÂ
