This CD is decidedly misanthropic. Or rather, cynical might be a more appropriate word. Satire, irony and invective expressed through music and sound collage are tools through which HeavyConfetti works out it's angst: a way of purging the bile of bitterness from the soul. Two follow up CDs in a similar vein, Secret Life of Implants and Pirates of the Carob-Be-In should expiate all the bad air within hc for sometime to come. Or at least we hope.

However there's a great amount of fun on the disc as well as outright anomie. and plenty of juicy, sometimes atonal guitar solos packed with plenty of compression and seething distortion. This sonic purging is dedicated to Ray Garcia, who recently opted for premature quietus. Say hello to Zappa for me, will ya Ray?

Originally the project was going to be another post-modern irony within irony endeavor, with HC mocking the formulaic, business-like structure of popular music. The idea was to devise a program that could "create" hit songs, each more banal and insipid than the one previous. but this was abandoned for a musical venting of the spleen. The alternate spelling, with FUNK in all capitals I devised on a whim while listening to George Clinton's "One Nation Under a Groove."
