Rough sketch/notes toward an Introduction to a book project in progress, "Improbable Manners of Being: The Queer Lives of Saint Guthlac," focused on the 8th-10th-centuries Anglo-Latin and Old English narratives (in prose and poetry) of the Anglo-Saxon Saint Guthlac of Crowland (673-714), who lived as a hermit in the East Anglian fens in Anglo-Saxon England.
