Subject: Pleasantly Surprised!!
I am so pleasantly surprised, even shocked at the most excellent way that these Inner Sanctum
shows, as well as all the other OTR shows which
are found on this site have been preserved! I became intrigued with the OTR shows on just what
my parents told me about shows such as inner sanctum & the shadow(they were born in the late 1930's, I wasn't born until 1964).I spent my adolescent years listening to the CBS Radio Mystery Theater which aired in the late 1970's
and by then I was hooked on OTR. Some time later,
I found a cassette recording of the inner sanctum
episode, "Murder Comes At Midnight"; very good
and very scary!
And our dear friend Raymond, sure, the jokes he
tells are on the corny side, but let's face it
my friends, could anyone OTHER than Raymond get away with it?? We wouldn't want him any other
way!!

Subject: The Bromo Seltzer commercial scared me
Years ago, I acquired a tape of a Inner Sanctum mystery called "The Vengeful Corpse," about a woman who was possessed by the ghost of a witch who was burned at the stake. It had the Bromo Seltzer commercial, that I recalled from my childhood circa 1949-50. I waited until 9 p.m. to play it on my tape recorder and I listened with the lights out. It brought back great memories and a familiar tingle up my spine. The Bromo Seltzer commercial, that was supposed to represent a train, reminded me of a ghost. The story itself was great, full of melodrama. My wife walked in on me as I was listening to it and gave out a cackling laugh. I jumped about a foot. Many of the Inner Sanctum mysteries carried the Lipton Tea commercial. Lipton wanted their series protected by copyright. There have only been a few Bromo Seltzer programs that have been survived. Many programs from that period are AFRS recordings.

For a good any time scare or suspense stories the Inner Sanctum is the place. The stories would be perfect for halloween.
