After Prop 8 - How can California discuss controversial issues more civilly? Some issues seem to inspire strong feelings and even antagonism. One of them is same-sex marriage, and we saw that last year in the campaign for Proposition 9, a constitutional amendment that voters passed defining marriage as being only between a man and a woman. On Monday, at a symposium called "After Proposition 8," experts will consider ways to defuse overly heated discussion of political and social issues. Today on Insight, we'll talk with some of those experts.
Boy Scouts Rally - The Boy Scouts of America are getting an early start on their 100th anniversary celebrations. Thousands of Boy Scouts are expected to gather in downtown Sacramento tomorrow for a rally and other festivities. It will be the first Boy Scouts 100th anniversary celebration in the nation.
Sage Po - A 15-year-old Yuba County girl who plays classical harp will be on national radio this weekend. She's Sage Po, and she'll perform on NPR's young-musician show "From the Top." Sage also has a solo album out.
"Tick, Tick...Boom!" - Before he went on to musical theater superstardom with "Rent," composer and playwright Jonathan Larson had an Off-Broadway hit with "Tick, Tick...Boom!" It's the story of an aspiring composer in New York. A new production has opened in Sacramento. You'll meet the director and two cast members.
