Nearly two years ago, french anti-DJ Digiki emailed Channing and MC Cat Genius after hearing their track on Cornelius' PM by Humans remix album, asking them to do something for his own remix contest for Kitchen, his debut. Channing and Piccolo took their time and shook out some tracks, as did labelmates Gregg Lewis, James Harvey, and Tanuki. When the credits for Animals Don't Care: people cook Digiki (d!g!k! microwaves back), Digiki's self-rehashed compilation of other people's remixes of him, was announced, some Cat Jams tracks made it in their entirety, some were sampled, and some didn't and weren't. Channing, ever the creatively sore loser, planned his own complementary release, and thus this disc was born. Featuring ten or so tracks by six distinct remixing entities from Columbia and the United Kingdom, and featuring live jazz interpretations, blog recitation in bad French accents, Pauly Shore / Smashing Pumpkins mashupping, actual pop songwriting skill, and a special guest appearance by a very special Cornelius, from when Channing was still waiting to get paid for that other remix. Regardless of your familiarity with the source material, the advancing of the form present in these tracks is sure to mystify and entertain.
