Farmer's Daughter is better known as the Rose Tree polka; The Farmer's Daughter was later the title of a film released, curiously enough, in 1947, the year of Morrison's death. Little Brown Jug would become very well known from Glenn Miller's 1940 big band arrangement; written in 1869 by Joseph Winner it was a well known folk song/tune in America in subsequent years. Its title and lyrical subject brings to mind the Irish drinking song My Blessings on the Big (or Little) Jug (and It Full), or in Irish, An Cruiscin Lan. The Girl I Left Behind (Me) was a very popular tune with marching bands, has innumerable variations in its lyrics (some quite bawdy), and also has a counterpoint in Irish, An Spailpín Fánach (The Rambling Laborer).
