Bascom Lamar LunsfordBascom Lamar Lunsford-Lost John Dean ()

Recorded in February 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky. It is claimed that this tune is based on an event involving a black trusty incarcerated in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It appears that he was to be the guinea pig in a test concerning the smelling reliability of a new pack of bloodhounds. The trusty, however, used a barrell to outwit the hounds and escaped to parts unknown.
