This lecture is part of the "Imagine Buffalo Niagara in the 21st Century," Downtown Buffalo Public Library Noon-hour Lecture Series sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History and Nature (C-SAAHN). The lecture was preceded by a presentation recognizing Stanford Lipsey, Publisher of The Buffalo News since 1983, for his efforts in fostering cultural heritage in the Buffalo Niagara region. Margaret Sullivan, Editor-in-chief of The Buffalo News, noted the challenges that face the newspaper industry in general and The News in particular and saw them running parallel to the changes effecting the industrial Great Lakes cities and region - especially Buffalo Niagara. Much of the presentation was a discussion with an appreciative audience that asked numerous questions. Unfortunately, due technical difficulties, only the beginning part of the presentation was recorded.
