Olde Tyme Radio ChristmasKIBM Presents Christmas Old Time Radio (December 25, 1945)

Some of the best Holiday films came out during The Golden Age of Radio, circa 1930-1955. It's A Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, The Wizard of Oz, Miracle of the Bells. Other movies came out, and while not about Christmas, definetally have the Christmas spirit. Lux Radio Theater led the way in Holiday specials, but other series also contributed to the festive feeling in there own way. Command Performance, The Bing Crosby Show, Screen Directors Playhouse, and hundreds of others. The shows here are a small sample of what is currently available to listen to, curtosy of Old Time Radio. However, the shows below are definetally among the best.

that weren't in the movie screen play are added to the radio broadcast. Listen carefully for those rare additions!

Good times..... love the Disney broadcasts
Do you have any idea if the Lux Radio Theater presentations of Disney plays are public domain today or still under copyright? I would really like to know! thanks for contributing! --Hank

Subject: All good shows - Merry Christmas
Needless o say they're all good shows, just some better than others. You can't really say anything bad about OTR Christmas shows.

Does anyone have the December 21, 1941 episode of Columbia Workshop with Duffy's Tavern's Ed Gardner?
It's the original version of what later was the December 1948 episode on Duffy's Tavern called "Miracle in Manhattan" (also known as "The Christmas Show" and "Archie's in Bad Spirts") with Jeff Chandler. They were more or less the same script, however, as good as the Duffy's Tavern version is, there's something special about the Columbia Workshop version. If anyone has a copy they'd be willing to send me or post, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone's interested, in the Classic TV section of Internet Archive is the 1955 television version of Miracle on 34th Street with Thomas Mitchell in the role that Edmund Gwynn made famous in the movie (and on radio). Well worth watching.
