This performance was recorded by Dave Maass on July 25, 2007 at the Polunsky Unit in Livingston, Texas. The interview was conducted via closed-circuit phone and the recording device was an Olympus WS-100 hooked into the phone circuit. The file was edited using Audacity. The public domain classification for this work is for the recording, not the poem itself.

Thanks for the tips. The important thing was to get the audio up before the 30th ... after that, we would've had all the time in the world to edit it ... though the original quality was so low, I don't think there's much more I could've done.

Kenneth Foster was not executed an instead received his sentence commuted to life.

I've provided this online for others who have access to software to clean up and use for whatever purpose they like.
