Excellent
There's nothing here I hadn't seen before many times. It follows the formula seen in many romantic comedies. The difference is that it does it very well, which in my experience is a rarity in this genre. It's nearly as good as top productions like His Girl Friday or Bell, Book and Candle. This is a very entertaining, well made movie. The scene where the ace newsreel reporter gets fired was the high point for me.
I downloaded the 813MB AVI file. Video and audio quality were fine. Warning: Make sure your video player isn't set to deinterlace video. I made that mistake, with horrible results.

Newsreel high jinks
This has been a fave since I first saw it on TV in the late '80s, during the glory days of commercial-free AMC (American Movie Classics). The adventures of a newsreel cameraman and his girlfriend are a tad short on believability at times, but who cares? Nonstop action, during which comedy isn't neglected, leads to a dandy car chase and breathless finale. Stars Norman Foster, Evalyn Knapp and Purnell Pratt. However this is another B-feature with a surprisingly large supporting cast of credited and un-credited familiar faces - Irene Franklin, Jason Robards Sr., Emma Dunn, George "Gabby" Hayes, Bruce Mitchell, Marie Wilson, Milburn Stone, plus many more.
A filler-free screenplay with snappy dialog and good production values are complemented by superior direction which keeps scenes tight and to the point. "Ladies Crave Excitement" may not be a great movie, but it certainly delivers five stars worth of fun. The four minutes missing from this print probably resulted from a TV or re-release edit. Considering it's a tape transfer, the video and audio are good.
