I wish the Tibetan texts had also been read in Amdo and Kham; and that the speaker would have spoken more slowly. Presumably the recorded texts are for beginners so slow reading would be helpful.

This material adds to the limited corpus of Tibetan-English/ English-Tibetan material. However, the biggest need for Tibetans in China today in terms of English instruction, is a set of books targeting primary school students.
The material in Book 1 and Book 2 seem to pretty much the same in terms of difficulty. I am unsure what [1] and [2] refer to. They are much, much too difficult for English beginners. For English teaching purposes, the material would have been better presented had it been in, e.g., texts at a 200 word vocabulary, and then progressing to, for example, 1,200 words. Such material is available also on the Internet Archive at:

Despite its shortcomings and occasional English gaffe, this is usual material a teacher would want to occasionally use.
