Service manual for the Lanston Monotype "Type and Rule Caster." (Philadelphia, PA: Lanston Monotype Machine Company, 1953). This typecaster, derived from the Lanston Monotype Composition Caster, casts sorts and fonts intended for hand setting from 5 to 36 point. It uses Monotype "cellular" matrices from 5 to 12 points and Monotype display matrices above that. It should be used in conjunction with the "Detail Plates [of] The Monotype Casting Machine" (for example:http://www.archive.org/details/LanstonMonotypeCastingMachineDetailPlates11Ed1928 ).
