Subject: Wells Meets Welles and Theatre of the Imagination
Wells Meets Welles shouldn't be part of this grouping of shows. Les Miserables was written by Victor Hugo. The H. G. Wells Meets Orson Wells was a short conversation broadcast on KTSA radio in San Antonio October 28, 1940.
Theatre of the Imagination, on the other hand, was a 1988 radio special hosted by Leonard Maltin about the Mercury Theatre, and featured interviews with surviving members of the mercury Theatre.
Both shows are interesting, however they should be grouped, not with Les Miserables, but with the Mercury Theater and/or The Campbell Playhouse.
Side note: The Mercury Theatre broadcast in 1938 withiout a sponsor until December when Campbell's Soup sponsored ti and the shows was renamed.show first broadcast on CBS and CBC in July 1938. It ran without a sponsor until December of that year, when it was picked up by Campbellās Soup and renamed The Campbell Playhouse.

This story is depressing, yet enlightening. I hope society never gets this bad again, but I don't for a minute believe it can't. There will always be the people like Javert and the innkeepers. But will there always be people like Jean Valjean.
