Looks like Corman accidentally made a good movie.
Based on Nicholson's bit role appearance, you'd never guess that eventual stardom was in store for him.

First love the film although download is grainy.
I think its the mp4 that provides a clearer image. The reason for my TITLE is that I searched for films and movies that have been colorized and this one came up. It's not colorized and shouldn't have come up in my search as other films did that were the colorized version. Please correct this.

The Little Shop Of Horrors was the movie that my now wife and I went to see on our first date. We both loved it then and love it even more now. Great comedy and plot. We are looking forward to our 54th wedding anniversary this December.

Ah, The Little Shop Of Horrors... The re-make with Rick Moranis, Bill Murray, etc.... Is what this reviewer would recommend as the 2nd movie to enjoy in a double feature at home. To really enjoy the latter you have got to see the original. One of my personal Top 10 Classic Comedy Horror Films. Mushnick's Flower Shop on "skid row" is the setting for this non-stop comedy-horror gem. From Seymore to Sgt. Fink, with a small part played large by a young Jack Nicholson. The simplicity, often over-looked in today's comedies, is what drives this movie over the edge. Do what an expert advises... Watch "Little Shop of Horrors" tonight! First this classic and then the re-make, back-to-back. I promise you'll watch it again, and again. Good Job Internet Archives! Thanks for some class, some culture, and just plain fun! - RCALL

Downloaded to Avi.DivX (700mg) and video and audio are very good. If downloading again I'd go for the MPEG2 which can also be found on this website as it's more than worth the extra.
It's been a number of years since watching the re-release of this movie. The re-release contains a number of musical spoots (maybe too many for some), where as this is ALL MOVIE !!! And like others have mentioned this is much more a comedey than a horror, it even made both my mum & dad have a good laugh. So don't waste anymore time reading my review a get The Little Shop of Horrors. 10/10 And gets my vote for best movie on archive.org

I've seen the colorized 1987 version, and it makes the film even more enjoyable. And Jack Nicholson was the Johnny Depp of the 60's.
(Trivia) The screenplay was originally called "The Passionate People Eater."
You could not pay me to watch the musical version a second time.

I agree with all of the reviewers below. A very cheap movie (reportedly pounded out in a few days, and shot on sets from another movie) but with unforgettable characters (poor Ma and her "nerve tonic", the hungry flower shop customer, the two detectives) and a very, very black sense of humor.
By all means, download it. "Little Shop of Horrors" is sick and twisted (in the nicest possible way) and flat-out hilarious!
Sure wish Criterion would give this one the treatment.

I never saw the original until now. It is so much better than the remakes. And that Audry Sr., what a dish!

I have seen two or three times on television and ended by saying that is the biggest fool that has been done in the world of horror films. That is why I like it, because I laugh and spend a good time.
Now I will have chance to see it without ads.

Subject: One of Corman's best, without a doubt!
It's got all the Corman hallmarks- bizarro characters, outlandish plot, tiny budget... but it stands out from many of his others. Very humorous, wild, and creative. A must see, and an undisputed classic!

Okay.
We've got a movie a boy, his girl, and his plant.
And the plant likes to eat people.
But, despite common opinion, the monster of the movie isn't the hybrid man-eating plant named Audrey Jr, or it's creator, the wimpy Seymour Krelborn.
It's the plant's second victim, Dr. Farb.
Why him?
Well, number one, he's a dentist.
Number two, he's vindictive, and if he doesn't like you, you're in for a mouthful of pain.
Yep, a sadistic dentist is the true monster, despite what young Wilber Force (Jack Nicholson) may say.
And for killing him, Seymour is one of my heroes, and the other is Audrey Jr, for simply having the stomach for him.

Subject: A Great Camp Film
Subject: A Great Camp Film
This is one of those films that you sit through and say 'How Stupid' only to find that you truly enjoyed it. The actors all underplay their parts and and 18 year old Jack Nicholson overplays to perfection the pain adicted dental patient. This is well worth downloading and watching again and again. (Dont miss renting the musical of the same name with Rick Moranis). This film is the one and only original. Great fun.
