vanillag NOTES (12/10/2021):
--line up at this concert was (from opener to headliner): Los Villians, Ozomatli, Los Lobos
--I researched & corrected a bunch of info, including proper song titles, band member info & who was on stage when (to the best of my abilities given the clues present), et al.
--These 2 concerts (12/4 & 12/5/1998) were pretty much a family affair for Los Lobos as members of both opening bands contain sons of members of Los Lobos, this particular night was David Hidalgo Jr's birthday & much of their families were at the shows as well.
--I added photos of the concert poster, ticket stub & venue itself.
--Not 100% sure if the band members info for Ozomatli is correct, but this was who was in Ozomatli in 1998, so it is assumed to be correct.
--Not 100% sure if Victor Bisetti was at this show or not as he is not listed on any other posting of this show nor 12/4 & Los Lobos rarely, if ever, shouts out the band members from the stage, but he was their touring drummer/percussionist from 1990–2003 & I would assume that he was there, trading off drumming duties with Louie Pérez when Louie would go to the front of the stage to play guitar or something, as per the norm, etc. If anyone knows differently, please let me know.
--The Oscar Roasa controversy: Regarding this 'Oscar Roasa' person, I'm not sure he even exists & I'm kinda convinced that he was mistakenly created by someone somewhere along the line when that someone mistyped Cesar Rosas' name & somehow he has stuck around on the web (i.e. if one semi-dyslexically types 'asa' instead of 'sas' on a keypad to finish the last name, they would get 'Roasa' instead of 'Rosas'...not sure how you get Oscar from Cesar, but they are close enough sounding & both names are 5 letters long so if someone typed it somewhere once & it got copied & pasted down the line, it's easy to see that being the case). I've never heard of an individual named Oscar Roasa being in Los Lobos before, but he was listed on other editions on both this show & the night before (12/4) right under Cesar Rosas & the claim is that he was playing the same things every time (Cesar Rosas - guitar, mandolin, vocals; Oscar Roasa - guitar, mandolin, vocals). I cannot find any other proof of an Oscar Roasa existing online except on the site AllMusic...but even on there, when he is listed, Cesar Rosas is not, or Cesar Rosas is only listed as composer...or again, if they are both listed, they are both listed as playing the same exact things. This again makes me feel pretty strongly that this Oscar Roasa is listed there in error. I do not feel that he exists in real life & so I am not listing him on this show as part of the band in order to try & end the confusion. Someone please prove me wrong. Oh yeah!!
