Subject: amazing recording
I am sorry but the two star rating below is a bit off base. Those of us who love Low know that reverb is where its at with these folks!
This is a GREAT snapshot of what a Low show in 1999 (a rare time for a live recording) might be for fans. The sound is along the lines of the "Will the Night" from "songs for a dead pilot" Cd on kranky. If you can appreciate that sensibility you'll love this show! Tons of reverb coat each song, a very respectful audience=great experience for a Low fan, a must download. Thank you very much to the person who deemed us worthy! Many, many thanks again.

Subject: Awful acoustics
The acoustics of the venue are terrible - very echoey - and the taper seems to have been right at the back, meaning that the songs sound very distant and weak. Since the set list tends towards their more fragile, delicate songs they're nearly lost in the reverb.

Notes

This performance by Low took place at Duluth's Sacred Heart Music Center, an extremely resonant space -- folks who like reverb will enjoy this one. Applause can get a little loud at times, but otherwise it's an excellent recording, and the band is in fine form and spirit.

Levels peak at 0 dB on the original DAT, so no gain need be applied. Completely unedited; overburning, or a 90-minute CD, would be required to fit this on a single disc without further editing.

Huge thanks to DJ Starfire for sharing this tape!
