Threnody for Zumb Zumb (Remix) |
Notes
Tracks 1, 2, and 8 from "The Great Conjunction" album (unreleased). These tracks were recorded for an album in the summer of 2007, but the project was terminated. Many of the tracks created for this album were lost during a computer crash in late 2008, however, these particular songs have survived (it should also be noted here that the track "The Crooked Universe" off the Sypha Nadon "Black Omen" album was originally created for "The Great Conjunction" album).
Tracks 5, 11, and 19 have, up until this point, only been available through the Sypha Nadon MySpace page. This is their first appearance on a Sypha Nadon album, though track 11 is a remixed version of a song that originally appeared on the Sypha Nadon album "Threnody for Zumb Zumb" (which was released on the This Plague of Dreaming record label in 2006).
Tracks 3-4, 6-7, 9-10, and 12-18 come from the infamous and notorious "120 Songs of Sodom" box set. To date, over half of the 120 songs making up the aforementioned box set have appeared on various Sypha Nadon albums and EPs.
Notes on individual tracks:
-Track 3 is named after a dog who appeared in the novel "Confusion."
-"Pan Dance" features an authentic Pan Flute performance by Frater Tsalal.
-"Zumb Zumb is Here" features guest Ray Pissed on vocals.
-"Song for Oerg-8" is dedicated to Michael Bertiaux.
-"Nightside of Eden" is named after a Kenneth Grant book of the same title.
-"Stop It!" features a sample from the film "Hook."
Album running time: over 75 minutes long.
All songs by Sypha Nadon.
Produced by James Champagne.
Art direction + back cover photograph of Booda Carrot by James Champagne.
Front cover depicts actual transcribed sheet music of an older Sypha Nadon song (to be more specific, "Z-Note").
