Subject: A good one
This is a well made noir film. There's good acting and pacing. Jane Wyatt is unconvincing as a femme fatale, though. Good use of the San Francisco area made viewing enjoyable. The story seems doubtful, though.
I downloaded the MPEG-2, hoping to burn it as a DVD, but the print from which the file was made was in poor condition. There's lots of hiss in the audio, scratches and dirt throughout the video as well as missing frames, with one scene fairly garbled.

Subject: very noisy
The sound on this was so bad I was insulted watching it. I suspect the story and acting is good, but who can stand all that static.
The braodband stream had no sound at all.

Subject: Very decent movie
I own a couple of copies and I never downloaded this here. This movie is fun to watch. What a guy won't do for a woman! Great location shots, cars, and pretty women make this flick enjoyable.

Subject: Quality Performance by Cobb
I haven't seen too many movies of Lee J. Cobb, but those I have always showed stellar performances by him. This one is no exception. By underpeforming he creates a cool persona that the viewer thinks can handle and overcome whatever comes his way.
The title, though, says it all. And all these years I thought Jane Wyatt was a great wife to Robert Young, and a perfect mother to Mr. Spock. She's hardly so nice here.
