John MaherMarch Past danced by Bristol Morris Men (2008)

Each May Day for the past thirty years Bristol Morris Men have danced in the centre of Bristol at Castle Park. We dance at 5.42am as the sun rises. Our first dance is Idbury Hill, a Bledington tradition dance, our last is usually March Past, done in the style of Eynsham. This is our last dance. After this we go for breakfast at the Hope and Anchor pub, Jacob's Wells Road then dance for various schools and others. On May 1st 2008 our tour included:
St George C.E.V.C. Primary School, Queens Parade, Brandon Hill;
Southville Primary School, Merrywood Rd, Southville;
St Mary Redcliffe C.E.V.C. Primary School, Windmill Close, Bedminster;
Lunch at The Windmill Pub, Windmill Hill, Bedminster;
South St. Primary School, South St. Bedmninster;
Monica Wills House, Cromwell St. Bedminster
