This clip features the beaches, lava fields, and fishbowls of Kihei and Makena. There are also images of the Iao Needle, Haleakala sunrise, and the Lahaina marketplace. The Haleakala sunrise overlooking the extinct sheild volcano is as experience of a lifetime (as well as the drive back down). The Ioa Needle gives you that tropical jungle experience, while the lava fields (from an eruption in 1790) is other-worldly. The Lahaina downtown area has a cool atmosphere, and the marketplace under the huge banyan tree, is a must see (one tree, twelve trunks, shades over 2/3 of an acre).
