MegaZpeed - Bossrush
A compilation of boss fights
There is no actual bossrush mode for the Zero series, which is a bit of a shame actually. I love doing boss fights, and that's one of the reasons i made this video. I recorded each battle individually and combined them all into 1 big video for entertainment purposes.
Each battle is very short and thus can relatively easy (as long as you got some skill) be perfectionized. This video isn't perfect, but most battles should come pretty close. Each game uses the best possible setup (such as ultimate mode and new game+) to allow for the fastest possible battles.
Overally, this movie does NOT aim for High Rank. The top priority is killing the boss as fast as possible, so that's part of the reasons why there is damaged induced on Zero most of the time.
I'd like to thank Mike Uyama for helping me with this video. Not only did he point out to me about the glitch in Zero1, but he also checked my fights to see if he could spot any improvements. Thanks Mike!
Since every game has a different fighting system as well, and i'll explain them below.
Zero 1:
Has the very interesting "standing slash" glitch. Basically, the first slash (only a standing slash, not a walking or jumped slash) of a triple combo from the Z-saber does not turn the boss invincible. This way, you can endlessly repeat the first slash to bring a boss down in seconds. Second, if you charge the shield boomerang while slashing, your recovery time will be much shorter, allowing you to attack at a much faster rate. For most battles this is, just like Zero4, slaughter.
I also use ultimate more here which gives you several advantages, whith the ability to execute charged attacks being the biggest advantage.
Zero 2:
Nothing really special here. It has the most boring combo system of all 4 games. The longest combo you can make is a charged saber attack followed up with a triple combo. *yawn*
I use ultimate mode here as well, which makes fights a little bit more interesting.
Zero 3:
This game has a much bigger combo system. You can link several ex-skill attacks after a standard attack like a triple combo. The biggest combo you can get is:
1. Small uncharged buster shot
2. Charged saber attack
3. Triple combo
4. Upwards ex-skill
5. Downwards ex-skill
However, while this is the longest combo and allows you to do the most damage in 1 "turn", using the dash-stab ex-skill instead of the upward/downward combo allows you to do more damage in less time. In other words, the dash-stab can finish off a boss quicker than the upward/downward combo if he/she is near dead, but the upward/downward combo will do more damage in the long run.
Note that the uncharged buster shot does slow you down in a normal combo. I use this only if a boss would have like 1/2 HP left before his/her HP reaches 0. If this is the case, i link up the uncharged buster shot before a combo so i won't have to wait another "invincible blinking" round.
Summing it up, i use 2 satellite elves along the way. These are Gambul (won't be pushed back when hit) and Lizetus. (Upward 3rd slash in a triple combo, adds 1 more damage) I use ultimate mode here as well.
Zero 4:
This game has the same combo system as Zero3. However, instead of using ultimate mode again, i use "New Game +" which allows me to keep all the chips from start leaving me with the possibility to use the "Junk armor" from start. The junk armor, as interesting as it is, will make you get hurt twice as bad if you get hit, but more importantly make you deal double the amount of damage as well! When equipped with this, you are able to slaughter bosses like nothing else. This is by far the best damage system of all Zero games. Pegasolta Eclair never stood a chance!
Well this should be it. Hope you enjoyed it!
