A re-post of the microdisco.de compilation volume 3, which was an online competition to produce music using the maxYMiser software. gwEm still has a page up for the competition at
preromanbritain. Originally all the tracks were available as MP3s, but only these (top entries) survived after a few weeks.
"grab em end spread em!!!" RIP Microdisco.de, you will be missed!
The
original liner notes say:
In October 2006
microdisco agreed with
gwEm 2 do a project
cooperation. The idea was, 2 do a proper music competition, which is usually a demoscene thing. But we thought it would be quite a fun thing 2 introduce to all "non-demo-sceners". The way of public voting is far more interesting and fair for all participants! Okay, and we don't have to decide which tunez 2 choose ;) which can be really hard sometimes.
Another part of the concept for this compilation was to encourage people to try out
maxYMiser, a tracker, designed by gwEm. The result was quite overwhelming! Many people have been sending tunez and even more people have been voting! ThanX a lot to everyone!!!
It was a proper
"Eurovision Song Contest" atmo here in the kitchen, while we were sorting out all the votingsheets...12 points for Dresden! We had a lot fun! Well, and we got some results:
The Winner is 505 with YM2006! Congratulation!
We picked the ones, you have been voting for the most and put them on our compilation (in no particular order). And here it is - We are proud to announce:
microdisco vol 3 - maxYMum time pressure! great music in a great package! The amazing cover is an artwork from the
