Subject: Classy commercial for crappy product
Very Classy, Classic and Sophisticated commercial for a product which isn't. Still, Which the product may be crappy, This commercial is so damn good it's worth downloading as an example of classy advertising.

Subject: Modern Menthol, Old Fashioned Addiction
This ad claims Montclair cigarettes are "modern," yet the ad itself is stodgy and conventional. Supposedly, menthol makes it modern along with the "surprisingly low" tar and nicotine. The background music makes a cautious little trill when the camera zooms in on the tar and nicotine stats on the package. A disembodied male hand lights a cigarette and then offers a cigarette to a similarly disembodied female one. The faceless couple silently smoke as the announcer drones on; for a cigarette that "makes every puff a pleasure," nobody in this ad seems to be having a very good time.

Subject: Montclair?
This commercial didn't help make this cigarette
survive all the different brand. In today's times we can see how misleading was the "information."

Subject: Mmmm! Charcoal granules!
A cigarette ad with the impossibly jingoey catchline of "Just Enough In Every Puff Makes Every Puff A Pleasure". And WHY is it a pleasure? The charcoal-menthol filter of course! it provides "just enough Menthol to please your taste".. and the rest of it will probably be the charcoal I guess? and the tar? Oh I'm sorry, for according to the CIGARETTE PACKAGE, they're 'smoke components' commonly but inaccurately called Tar.'. So what should the 'smoke components' be called then? Just about the loopiest ciggie commercial around, this is a MUST SEE on this site!

With the bad reputation smoking got for causing cancer in the 1960's, some tobacco companies started marketing low tar and nicotine but "high in flavor" smokes. Here we have a TV ad for Montclair, the "Modern Cigarette." What's modern about it? Modern menthol flavor that makes every puff a pleasure.
