Notes
Not sure if this one has ever circulated - incomplete show, low generation soundboard recording by Steve Spitalny. Not sure of the lineup exactly,
definitely John Dawson, David Nelson & Steve Love. Not sure of the venue, Fat Fry is usually in Santa Cruz.
All info is as it was on the cassette tape.

Subject: A Fat Fry?
Subject: Lost Riders
The Bodega was a popular saloon in Campbell, CA (at 30 South Central Ave), just west of San Jose. The sold a lot of beer, and booked a lot of local bands like Elvin Bishop, The Sons, etc. It's the kind of place the New Riders would have played on a Thursday night in 1978.
The Fat Fry was a weekly live broadcast on KFAT-fm in Gilroy, CA, an amazing radio station that can't be described here. Fat Frys were always on Mondays, to my knowledge, and in the late 70s they were broadcast from Keystone Palo Alto. By the 1980s the Fat Fry had moved to a San Jose place called The Saddlerack (there is a JGB Fat Fry broadcast from The Saddlerack on March 7 '82).
February 9 '78 was a Thursday night, but I wouldn't rule out some sort of special Fat Fry broadcast on a Thursday night from The Bodega (within the range of KFAT). So it's not impossible that this is either an FM or pre-FM broadcast. In any case, it's a cool tape.
