EverQuest
The most eagerly awaited of the next generation of online games is Sony's EverQuest, which could well be a Web breakthrough. A role playing game in the dungeons and dragons mold of 'Ultima', EverQuest is in Beta and has already garnered rave reviews. EverQuest's goal online is maintaining a graphic environment where hundreds of people can play the same fantasy game at once.

What's the Big Idea?
To play Beserk's What's the Big Idea? you simply answer questions to climb a pyramid. The questions are thought provoking, fun, and have no right or wrong answers. The better a player predicts how the other players will answer the faster he or she can climb up the pyramid. All you need to play is an opinion!

Shockrave
Online games don't need to be huge, or require others to play against you, to be fun to play. The Shockwave demo site, Shockrave, offers a whole slew of games that are highly inventive, well designed, simple, and fun to play too. They are also, given how quickly they download, impressively designed and dynamic.

Grrlgamer
Grrlgamer offers female online game players a place where they can find out about gaming without being ridiculed or meeting sexist men. They can find out not just how but where to play and can put up information about themselves so they can find playing partners. They also review games from a women gamer's perspective and lobby for changes that will make the games they like less sexist or more attractive to women players.

Okbridge
Companies are finding that you don't have to give people new games to be a successful online gaming destination. Okbridge gives bridge players a reliable, ad-free way to hook up and play with other avid bridge players more easily than bringing partners together in one room. And the most experienced bridge players now practice online to keep sharp for major tournaments.
