This was the very first broadcast of my radio show, "No Pigeonholes" back in 1985. As with all the subsequent shows it featured home recorded, small studio, underground and independent music being made by do-it-yourself artists all over the world.
No Pigeonholes Archives Vol. 1 12-15-85 (first hour only of two hour broadcast) Hosted by Don Campau on KKUP, 91.5 FM
I started at KKUP in 1978 playing avant garde, ethnic and weird rock music. That lasted until around 1982. After leaving the station for a couple of years after some infighting I returned in 1984 thanks to my friend John Hayden who gave up two of his Sundays per month so I could get back on the air. I had already been playing a few cassette releases in 1984 but did not have enough material to really do an entire show until this program in late 1985. All of the early shows were in mono ( KKUP operated that way for a number of years) .
Artists include: Kit and Coco Zirbel Peter Catham YU Jimmy Townes Copernicus Bored Young Men ( incorrectly announced as Ken Clinger) Tom Furgas PaperBag Phillip Perkins Ted Lee Bouncing from Transient Sonic Stimulants compiled by Zan Hoffman
