Policy
New policy as of 04/11/2008:
O.A.R. has decided that as of the beginning of the upcoming tour, soundboard feeds for audio recording will no longer be permitted. Audience recordings via portable microphones and associated audio equipment will still not only be permitted, but encouraged! We will continue to provide every available capability to allow your equipment to be brought into the venue for audio taping per our taping policy.
As of this time, we feel that advancements in our audio production capabilities over the years have provided an atmosphere that can best be captured by audience microphone recordings. Though we have been very happy with the quality of our soundboard feeds, we feel even more strongly that audience recordings provide a more entertaining and realistic depiction of the live O.A.R. show.
Thanks to the taping community for your continued support over the years.
We cannot thank you enough.
Policy as of 03/05/2003
Audience taping is permitted at all OAR shows. We feel as if taping shows is helpful in the encouragement of fan interaction and a way of having a permanent memory of a live show. If OAR is playing in an event which features multiple bands, the taping policy of the headlining band will dictate the taping policy for that evening. All taping of live OAR shows is restricted to audio only; no video taping will be allowed. Audio recording is limited to portable equipment which includes microphones and a recorder. Power or other auxiliary equipment are generally not supplied so be prepared to bring your own equipment. If space permits, soundboard feeds may be given. If you wish to tape, we encourage you to arrive early to set up.
All taping must be for personal and non-commercial use only. No profit is ever to be made from live shows. You are permitted to trade shows with other fans for an equal amount of media (ie. 2 cds for 2 cds). OAR will actively pursue those in violation of this policy.
Trading of shows has been a large part of recreating the live experience and we want to continue offering this option to fans. Please keep clear of the crew during the show. Remember that the audience's enjoyment of a live show is paramount and will never be sacrificed at the expense of a taper requesting fans to move, keep quiet, etc. Please respect other fans while you are taping.
