Technical info:
This DVD was sourced from high-quality 25fps PAL torrents that were recorded off-air in the UK. It was conformed to the NTSC "film" frame-rate (23.98fps) but your player will insert the necessary frames to display it on a traditional NTSC TV (29.97fps). The decision to use an NTSC format was based on 2 factors:
1) This series was broadcast in the UK. Viewers in the U.S.A. will probably never see this on TV or via commercial DVD, due to the expense of licensing the archive footage. So by using an NTSC format, I hope that the work can more easily reach a North American audience.
2) NTSC discs can be played by almost all PAL players, but many NTSC players cannot play PAL discs (regardless of region-coding).

The League of Gentlemen - Pandora's Box Part 3
[The use of science in political economics in Britain in the 70s - ignoring the fact that politics should keep its hands out of the economy]
Thirty years ago, a group of economis... Thirty years ago, a group of economists managed to convince British politicians that they had foolproof technical means to make Britain great again. Pandora's Box tells the saga of how their experiments have led the country deeper into economic decline, and asks - is their game finally up?

Goodbye Mrs Ant - Pandora's Box Part 4
[DDT spraying good or bad? Who decides?]
Should we let scientists be the prime movers of social or political change when, for instance, DDT made post-war heroes of American scientists only to be put on trial by other scientists in 1968? What kind of in-fighting goes on between rival camps before one scientific truth emerges, and when it does emerge, just how true is it?
While not coming to a conclusion, it shows the conflict within science and politics concerning the environment very well.
