Geoffrey Chaucer"The Parliament of Fowls" (February 14, 2006)
Geoffrey Chaucer's St. Valentine's Day classic.
Read in modern English pronunciation, for maximum understanding, and with funny voices, because the characters are birds. If you want to hear this read in Middle English pronunciation, there's a whole site where they do just that.

Subject: Discordant Fowls
This would have been a much better reading had the reader made some effort to speak with a proper Middle English accent and pronunciation. There were any number of obvious audible speaking errors and about halfway through the general drone gave way to a rather wacky attempt by the reader to give the various 'fowl' characters their own distinct personalities. This did not work very well as it throws off the listener by suddenly dragging them into a not very convincing world. All in all quite mediocre.
