Religous and spiritual poem about the season of Pentecost, a season of the Episcopal Church year--and that of other denominations. Like all the poems by aspiring poet Peter Menkin, this Christian statement also holds the implied theme of praise and thanksgiving. Afterall, this is part of the theology of the poem and its attitude. Regarding the Holy Spirit, the poem says these words, among others telling of a relationship with it:
Reach out, lift the heart, have faith that the Spiritfire comes settling in, penetrating us: Goodness.
Read by the writer, Peter Menkin, the recording done on his personal PC at home, where he writes the poems, was revised a few times, this version the final written in 2002. Note that the poem is one of prayer and relationship in prayer, though the term "Tongues of language and flames" is used in the body, which could also be a working title, and almost became the title of the work.
