Peter Laux's Statutory Declaration for $10K Climate Challenge
Peter Lauxâs Statement Re: $10K Climate Challenge
Background and Experience
I am employed as a Locomotive Engineman (Train Driver) for Pacific National in Melbourne, Australia. I have been in the 'Locomotive Grade' for 30 years. The majority of my work is 'long haul' freight, with a little passenger traffic.
I am a member of the oldest rail union in the world, the Locomotive Division of the RTBU (Rail Tram and Bus Union) and I am the elected representative of Pacific Nationals Drivers on the Locomotives Divisions State Ruling Body and Vice President of my local Branch.
I have previously been Secretary of the largest Driver Depot in Australia, the ERD (Electric Running Depot), Senior and Junior Vice President of the Victorian Branch of the AFULE (Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Enginemen).
I was President of the Locomotive Division of the RTBU, which was the amalgamation of the Rail, Tram and Bus Unions. I have also held various other State and Branch positions.
Political Perspective
In Union politics as with all positions of power, I believed in and have practiced 'Limited tenure' of positions. I disbelieve in all elites and hierarchies of 'elites'.
I have faith in humanity, so have no wish to control others, except when they stand on my toes. I disdain equally those who seek to control others, whether from the left or right of politics and find it disingenuous when one side claims moral superiority over the other when 'human control' is the end, means or both.
Reaction to Warming Politics
I have watched over the past couple of decades as the so called left side of politics has been easily duped, co-opted and corralled by the Northern Hemisphere Elite over the issue of the Greenhouse Effect or Global warming or Climate Change or Climate Chaos or whatever new slick PR advertising spin they need to use today.
As an Industrial worker and militant trade unionist, I have seen the 'Anthropogenic Global Warming' (AGW) charade become the most regressive political issue in my lifetime. Its purpose is to impose carbon taxes on everything to reduce energy demand.
In plain language, a deliberate plan to reduce the standard of living of ordinary working people and the poor.
Carbon trading is the vehicle that the 'carpet bagging' bankers and financiers will profit from in the trillions by trading 'green indulgences' - carbon credits.
Global Warming it seems is a political issue whereby its proponents do not seek to help free people but to control them.
The inner fascist is revealed in many who know AGW is a lie but justify its promotion to use it to further their 'progressive' agenda by lying, manipulating, scaring, taxing and impoverishing and ultimately controlling the very same people they claim to help.
In short, it doesn't matter to me if the boot on my throat is from the left or right.
The last two decades have seen fundamentally mediocre and poor intellects prove themselves such by haranguing and insisting that we must believe what they believe without thought, for to even be sceptical is to be a denier, a heretic. It is embryonic 1984 Orwellian Newspeak; - "War is Peace", "Freedom is Slavery", "Ignorance is Strength" and now "Carbon Dioxide is Pollution".
AGW proponents constantly claim 'overwhelming evidence' and yet incredibly never show any, the exception is Michael Mann, who's fraudulent 'hockey stick' graph demonstrated the 'overwhelming evidence' that there is none.
Every climatic event like a hurricane is seen as 'evidence' in the same way as the ancients would see and interpret events as signs and portents.
All apparently caused by a few parts of CO2 from coal and oil for every MILLION other parts of a vast atmosphere.
Position on the Fossil Fuel-Based Economy
This demonisation of coal and oil lacks any perspective as modern prosperity is directly due to the English fuelling the Industrial Revolution with coal, that amazing source of concentrated energy.
It has led to the greatest material advancements in mankind's history.
I, as a worker live a life that those before me would have viewed as Utopia. I live as only Royalty did. I eat three meals a day, to a menu of my choice. Most modern Westerners have never known real hunger.
I live with the incredible luxury of fresh clean water flowing like a stream into my home, with the turn of a tap and sewerage taken away in a flush.
I light my home without effort by flicking a switch and turn a knob to banish cold and another to smother oppressive summer heat.
Even though my children and I were educated to only a moderate level, that level historically would place us into the tiny percentage of the most educated of all people who have ever lived.
We enjoy excellent medical care. So good in fact that dentistry for common people now comprises of more than tooth extraction or death by septicaemia!
I own my own home and can travel vast distances in my own vehicle, can afford overseas holidays and have more than adequate clothing and footwear and its because of the cheap energy that coal and oil have provided.
Surely this is what material advancement and progress has been striving towards for millennia and yet there are still 3.5 billion people who don't have the least of these things, isn't that the real environmental problem; starvation, treating disease, providing potable water and sewerage to all our brothers and sisters?
Fossil fuels have been a boon to all mankind but especially the working class and the poor and perhaps this is the real problem to the green alienated petite bourgeois, who ironically live most densely in the most urbanised of all environments on the planet.
Natures gift of organic oil and coal are a good for mankind not an ill, CO2 is a plant nutrient and not a pollutant.
For any truly informed Westerner to believe otherwise is hypocritical and perverted.
$10k Challenge Challenge
For those who despise the source of their prosperous lives and wish to burden those who can least afford it with carbon taxes and cripple the development in the 3rd world, I offer you $10,000.00 (AUS) for a conclusive argument based on empirical facts that increasing atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuel burning drives global climate warming."
