Poor Billhope
A pure and cut case of not having the knowledge of what stinks and what' doesn't stink. The fact that you gave the video a 5 stars prove's my theory. "Pats you on the back" Good googly moogly

to scalvert
scalvert don't worry about that these idiots say....Sure you might have screwed up the aspect ratio of the film but these people are the types that won't try to do anything themselves but content themselves on complaining about your short comings. At least you tried. They don't

Good heart, poor thinking...i think.
Scalvert, the only thing you've achieved is making Bela a healthy weight. Everybody looks fat. Tor's ass is already widescreen enough, you don't need to amplify it. Please keep future mutilations to yourself.

Distorted image quality
Original post:
This specific upload takes a 4:3 print and turns it into a 16:9 image, taking the video and "squashing" or "stretching" it, resulting in a distorted and inaccurate "hall of mirrors" effect.

Follow-up post:
The fact is, you have taken a "square" image and *stretched it* thus distorting the original photographed film. Click on the PLAY button and tell me I'm wrong. I am not.
It's not a matter of just filling a wide screen, it's an issue of taking the original picture and "pulling" it like Silly Putty to fill a widescreen frame, thus creating an elongated distortion of the original image. Cropping an image to fit a wide screen is one thing; distorting an image is another thing entirely.
If you take the 4:3 image of a circle or a perfect sphere and stretch it to 16:9 to fill a wide screen in the same manner, you have thereby created an oval or egg shape instead of a circle or sphere. Simple geometry. If that simple FACT doesn't matter to you, then you won't care about how this image has been distorted either, so you might as well stand on your head or wear rose-colored glasses while you're at it, if that floats your boat, but don't pretend that you aren't viewing a distorted image.

Image Quality is Ok
Many people watch in widescreen these days, so I converted the file for widescreen. All anybody has to do is check out the thumbnails for the video. The quality is fine. Check them and see. If a squarer look works better for your screen though, or if you have a genuine fondness for that blank area at either side of your monitor then by all means seek out another copy. If you prefer to watch in widescreen though, I doubt that you will find a better copy.

Still waiting for plan 10
A five-star disaster that may be the most beloved bad movie of a time. Don't miss it!
I fully agree with previous reviewer. Avoid the seriously unfunny "Bill-O-Vision" screw up of the original.

Forget the Bill-o-Vision version
Stick with the original. The BOV version is a POS.
