Subject: No Rocks In The Pool Son.
Although made by the same people who made the deliriously great "Dining Together", (this film even has the same singsong piano music) the film somewhat is less fun when it tells the story of Donny and Duncan, it's a bit more pat, the music is a little more intrusive, the whole thing is too dark, and the situations seem a little more boring. The kids go to a playground where they see another kid bossing himself around, they go swimming where they watch a race where they DON'T congratulate the winner, but they scramble up to the loser to console them! Then they jump in the pool itself (where, since this was 1950, it was a-ok to dive headfirst into three feet of water). The narrator at the end say, "Wouldn't YOU like to play with Donny and Duncan?" Actually, I'd love to strangle the little runts.
