Subject: Makes the website into a unified work of art
I disagree with the lukewarm reviews posted here. The music and voices and camera work very nicely complement the material from the website. Nice job!

just turn off your speakers if you don't like the audio! it's an easy solution, and you might see a few secrets you haven't seen before.

no offense to the filmmakers.

This movie just didn't feel right. I think one of the best things about postsecret is that the secrets are anonymous. By putting voices to the secrets it kinda defies that point. Also, some of the voices, the tone the secrets were said in..etc just didn't match the secret they were reading [in my opinion].
Stick to the website.

Subject: waste of bandwidth
I have to agree with the previous reviews. It was dismal at best. Not worth the time I waited to download. I'd rather watch paint dry. I was only able to put up with it for about 3 minutes, but it seemed a lot longer. I mean, really, how exciting is it to watch pans of these postcards, and hear these uninspired and often inaudible voice-overs? Way too slow-moving and funereal. I think the whole idea to do a movie on this is ill-conceived. I get much more out of the website itself.

Subject: Basically Sucks
Like the previous reviewer said, this video basically sucks.

They pan across selected cards while the most banal voices read them ... I mean, it's hard to detect a trace of feeling in the way they are read.

The choice of music is also uninspired.

This film was a letdown, especially after hopping over from the incomparable Post Secret site.

The author laid voices and music over a montage of postcard secrets, a questionable effort to begin withÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ but (a) the sound quality is inconsistent and muffled (b) the song choices are heavy handed and (c) the voices are obviously non-actors, and while many people are credited, their voices are indistinct ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ the result sounds like 5 white twentysomethings.

Perhaps the two largest themes on PS are anonymity and the shared experience. This effort detracts from that. Example: once you assign gender to a message, youÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂve run it through a filter, narrowing its possible interpretations. Immediately itÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs less anonymous, less of a shared experience, with fewer meanings.

I suffered through the whole piece only to search for any postcards not currently posted on PS. While there were a few, it wasnÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂt worth the wait.
