Meredith Friesen is an English major at Whitworth University and has created this version of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen using hand drawn figures, a camera, iMovie, and her own vocal talent. The clip is from BBC's Pride and Prejudice which is, in her opinion, the best version of the movie to use for an accurate book comparison-- it was used as fair use. She chose stick figures because of her own artistic limits as well as the simplicity which she was trying to attain in retelling the story in the first place. She began to work with Prezi and intended to have the entire story told on that program, but the technology would not let her do what she wanted in a reasonable amount of time. She scripted the story off of chapter summaries found online and then picked what she thought was important from that to tell the story: true book fans will note that some characters are left out al together. The text used throughout the presentation are direct quotes from the book. Meredith apologizes for the severe lack of artistic talent as well as her habit of talking way too fast--even when she is slowing down.
