Subject: An Interesting Glimpse
I enjoy looking back on the langauges / products that I used in the early 1980's. These include the hardware / langauges / products shown / reviewed in this episode. So this episode, for me, was a real walk down memory lane.

However, 24 years later, maybe things haven't changed all that much. These days, I'm programming in Delphi (which is based on Pascal, and is my langauge of choice), teaching COBOL at university (using an updated version of Microfocus's product demoed in this episode - Microfocus COBOL for Windows), I've just developed my own interpreted language (for controlling Robots) which is kind of like a simplified cross between BASIC and Logo, and I've also progammed in Fortran, C, Forth, and Logo - all discussed or demoed in this episode.

An interesting look back - but a longer, more in-depth look would have been even better.

The guy from Microfocus in this episode looks like he should have spent at least a few minutes preparing for the demo - he is pretty hopeless ... ;)

All the best,

Mike "Moose" O'Malley
