Subject: Yipes!
Hahaha that does not look fun at ALL. Would love to see a similar film made about your average modern middle class prom... booze, drugs, sex and drama!

Subject: Prom:It's A Pleasure?
I was the age of the youngsters back when the film was made in 1961. Living in New York, I never remember going through so much formalities. Of course I wasn't as affluent as that group, and had to work while going to school, so I didn't have all leisure time to worry about so many rules of etiquette. The film seems a throw back to an earlier time.

Wasn't life wonderful in 1961 when you were white and pretty? What a fantasy world.

Subject: Prom Courtesy
It's 1961 in Alabama. The youth are dancing their socks off to ....a jazz orchestra playing elevator music?!? I doubt it! This little film explores the courtesies that make prom a pleasure. Manners, chaperones, dance cards, nosegays, and after hour buffets. The dresses are lovely. Well, except for our leading lady and her daisy dress. What a mess! The dance program/card is a long forgotten custom. Of course we all know why. Today, you don't dare trust your man in the arms of another. Girls today have no shame in stealing your beau and you don't want to crumple your prom digs while scratching her eyes out! I think Coca-Cola has a lot to answer for here.

Subject: Nice 'Do's!
Isn't it creepy that these girls are in their late teens, yet their hairstyles make them look like 40 year olds? Yikes! Not enough Coca-Cola products in the world to make that look attractive ...
You know, I just figured out what this video was missing .... someone getting drenched in pig's blood and chaos ensuing ....

Subject: Don't be a dick, be a date!
The 1961 Coca Cola Junior Miss (read a lower tier Miss America) explains to us the proper etiquette of how to go to a prom. Her date? "Son" from "A Date With Your Family!" (Guess he could tear himself away from being genuinely glad to see his dad for a bit eh?) He plays, of course, Dick. He phones Junior Miss up, and gets the date. Before the prom, he carefully phones up her prom to find out what she's wearing so that he can get the matching corsage. Soon, they're off ro the dance, where the women have these neat little schedules so they can all fit in all the men who want to dance, which is sort of odd. More rules are given, Boy leads to the dance floor, how to ask for a dance without embarassing a girl, and of course, going to the snack table, which is strewn with Coke, to appease the sponsor of the piece. Soon, the dance ends, and Son and Junior Miss go home, then Dick says a whopper of a statement: "I had fun tonight, I think it was because of you!" THINK? OUCH! Reccomended!
