Great show yes, but unfortunately the recording is tinny and oversaturated, sounds like Todd is singing thru a Kazoo. Loads of audience noise to boot.

I've listened to it on two stereos and the results are the same. Be hard pressed to listen to it again.

Hate to be negative but I'd rather be truthful. Not Todd Jones' best IMHO. Do yourself a favor and grab Smark's Neumann source instead.

Subject: Great show, nice recording
I was there for all three nights at Mexicali, and the shows were all amazing. Yeah, the crowd is loud here, but that's going to happen now that there's no soundboard patching. The band still comes through nicely.

Sorry Eric. My last post (actually double post) was supposed to be addressed to eD's comments.

Hey Eric,
The crowd was way loud for this night. Totally different then the next night. I'd bet ALL audience tapes of this night have mucho crowd on. Nothing you can do about a chatty crowd in a small venue. I don't hear the over-saturation though, but doesn't mean it's not there. I patched out of a pair of Schoeps only that were part of a Neumann/Schoeps mix. The second night is crystal clear. Ran out of different rig set-ups then the first night. Came out of Mark's Neumann's for the first set and then out of a pair of Schoeps mk4's for the second. Both sets are equally nice. That should be up by tomorrow at the latest or even late tonight.

It was one of those nights when everything worked... and we've got the amazing good fortune to have a superb recording to enjoy!
Thank you, T. Jones!!!
