Rae Bourbon (aka "Ray Bourbon") started in show business in silent movies and English music hall and, in the 1930s and 40s, was known for his gay themed nightclub review and performances in San Francisco, Los Angeles and many other cities.
"Miss Rae Bourbon - The New Woman" was a box set of 45 rpm records recorded and released on the Lasses label in the late 1950s or early 60s by Ray when he was appearing in New Orleans. Unlike his other material, these recordings include backing by a Dixieland Jazz-style band.

These recordings were digitized by Randy A. Riddle in 1998 from a cassette dub, provided by Charles C. Cage, of the original 45 rpm records. Click removal and noise suppression was applied to the recording after the digital transfer.
