Rag Radio with Thorne DreyerRag Radio -- 2010-06-29 / Austin's Rock 'n Roll Art with Leea Mechling & Henry Gonzalez (June 29, 2010)

Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)

- A conversation with Leea Mechling, Director, and Henry Gonzalez, Facility Manager of the South Austin Popular Culture Center. We discuss the Center, which documents Austin culture since the 60s and 70s; its history of exhibitions featuring major graphic and poster artists; and the Memorial Wall featuring fallen heroes of Austin and Texas culture. We also remember the unique early rock and roll scene in Austin, especially the iconic Armadillo World Headquarters -- and the graphic art that evolved with it.
Host and producer: Thorne Dreyer. Engineer: Tracey Schulz.
