Dr. James Rigby is a human rights activist and pastor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Austin. He has been outspoken in his opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is a strong supporter of universal health care. He has been honored by the Women’s Political Caucus, the Austin Rape Crisis Center, and the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, and has been recognized for his work for women’s reproductive rights, against hate crimes, and for the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons. Rev. Jim. Rigby was named Texas Public Citizen of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers. He is a member of the board of the Third Coast Activist Resource Center.
