Jesse Sublett is an Austin musician, author, and artist. In the years since 1978, when he shook up the Austin music scene with his punk band The Skunks, Jesse has branched out into writing -- as a novelist, journalist and sometime screenwriter - and into visual art. His mystery novels feature a bass-playing sleuth. His 2004 memoir, Never the Same Again: A Rock n Roll Gothic, ties together his experiences as a musician in 70s-80s Austin and Los Angeles, with his truly death-defying struggle with throat cancer, and his own investigation into the murder of his girlfriend in Austin in 1976, just as his music career began. Jesse has several new books in the works and he's still playing music.
