Bob Cheevers is the Texas Music Awards 2011 “Singer/Songwriter of the Year.” Cheevers recounts his experiences over a professional lifetime in four music capitals: Memphis, LA, Nashville, and now Austin, where he has found renewed creative energy. An Emmy-winning recording artist, Cheevers was also a winner at the Kerrville and Napa Valley music festivals, had pop hits in the 60’s and 70’s while working in LA, and has had top-20 hits on the Americana charts. Cheevers, who spent 16 years in the Nashville music industry before moving to Austin in 2009, grew up on the Missiissippi Delta, and much of his blues-flavored work has its roots in the lifestyle along the rivers of the South. We talk about his colorful career and Bob also performs for our audience. Host and Producer: Thorne Dreyer; Engineer & Co-Producer: Tracey Schulz.
